Steadily going through my cameras doing some cleaning.
Got out the eyeglass and was amazed at how much general dust and bits there were in the camera bodies.

It struck me that a small vacuum cleaner was the answer to this issue.

Has anyone experience of using. say a USB powered. vacuum cleaner with/in their cameras?

How else do you clean up the bits?

I confess that I've never given it much thought. I do wipe out the inside of camera bodies that appear to have picked up debris, or blow them out with the handy rubber bulb thingy, but I generally don't examine them with a loupe.

I'm sure the USB Vacuum thing would work fairly well - might be worth a go sometime. Thanks!

I would be afraid of getting it up against something, like the shutter curtains, and causing damage. I think the bulbs, holding the camera upsidedown, is better.

Real cameras aren't affected by a little dust ... only those silly things with sensors in them! 😛

The rubber bulb thingy and a nice soft brush...
I bought a 1 1/2" wide Polyester (for water-based paint) Paint Brush, I use his to brush off the dust on the body, mirror, focus screen, prism and front/rear elements of lens...It can get into the places that your fingers can't...and when used on lenses I don't have to blow on them (usually end up spitting anyway)
