It happens that once in a while I am the lat person to post something in a thread. I check here and there for additional postings, but I seem to be the last one. What caused this event to happen? I am listing some possibilities:

1. My comment did not add anything to the thread and people got bored.
2. Everything that has to be said has been said.
3. Some people are out to get me and they decided not to post after me.
4. This happend due to "chance".
5. Other possibilities.

What is your feeling when it comes to your own posting being the last one in a thread? Do you believe in Option 4?

# 6. I add nothing to the discussion and people feel if they add something I'll come back and add nothing again...I think. 🙂

#3 if that's what the little voices tell me.

Ray, do you hear the black helicopters??

Yes, I sometimes wonder about it when I do get the last word on a thread. 🙂

What baffles me more is when I start a thread that I'm *SURE* will be of interest to the group here, and nobody follows up, like the comment on giving film photographers some room to shoot a few days ago:

http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15455

... and some hardcore stuff about exactly how Kodachrome is processed:

I was *CERTAIN* that last one would generate some conversation, but ... 🙂

you people just need to figure out that the trick is to say things that are so outrageously stupid or controversial that everyone else can't let it go unchallenged 😀

Notice that this has to be one of very few threads (maybe the only one?) where there are more postings than views! This should tell us something about the psychology of posting. Any psycholigists willing to chip in some words of wisdom?

Then this implies that those of us who end a thread don't "say things that are so outrageously stupid or controversial ..." 🙂

On the up and up, I think sometimes if you come in late to a conversation, what you have to say may be the final word on the subject, consider it a good thing.

If you want a never ending thread try discussing the availability of 40.5mm filters for Canon lenses or why Leicas are over rated 🙂

I'm just trying to get to 2000 posts by the weekend 😀

Don't worry, Todd. Just hit the "mantra" welcome and good luck posts, and you'll be there in no time. 😉
