Have you ever wanted something really badly then been disappointed when you got it?

Just a symptom of GAS of course but sometimes it really stings and you have to ask yourself what the attraction was in the first place as you stare at the object in the cupboard that was the focus of such desire ... until you got it!

I have a few ... these are the ones that come to mind: 😱

Leica M7.

Most old folders I've bought.

Yashica 35 Electro.

Contax llA

Nikon FM3A

Ricoh GR1V

I guess it keeps the classifieds busy ... what are some of yours? 😀

Nikkor AF-S 50mm f/1.4 - the AF is waaaaaay too slow 😱

Bessa R2S x 3 - always seems like a good idea at the time.

Some surprises on that list, for sure. But that just shows that even the best gear is not the best for everyone!

um................build quality of the Zeiss 50 Planar which will not for the life of it stay screwed together. It comes loose every couple months. I like the lens, but something tells me I should have got the Leica summicron when the prices were not all that much different.....

Keith if these are disappointments, what were the keepers? These are all pretty good cameras, what was disappointing in them.

My problem is I like too many...

My disappointment Tmax ... until I figured out how to develop it.

Maybe less to do with disappointment Jan than just realising they won't get used ... for a couple of them at least. In the case of the M7 ... good camera but never used it and still not sure why. The GR1V ... can't come to terms with the 28mm focal length.

But I wanted them so badly when I bought them! 😛
