At first, I'm not sure where I should put this quesion.

My question is 'Have you heard about Minette?'

I've been looking for a decent loupe these days. Today I found a loupe named

Minette at Ebay. But I couldn't find any information about it. And this name is

totally new to me. Might be from France(sounds like). Seller said he/she bought

from Japan for about 50 pounds. So I'm dying for curisity.

Please relieve my headache. Cheers.

About the French sound of Minette, I can confirm ... it means "pussy" (the animal) or "chick"(not the animal). That's all I can say, sorry I can't help you.

I know nothing about the model of loupe you're looking at, but I have yet to find a really satisfactory loupe for viewing slides.
Surely they are out there....
The best one I've got is a 50mm F/1.4 camera lens whose useful life as a camera lens was over.

Minette may simply be the use of the name Hervic Minette, which made and sold a lot of movie equipment for many years. Hervic distributed the Beaulieu movie cameras in the US. Otto Hervic is long retired. The company was based in California.

It is possible that the old company shell is still around and doing business in a limited way with very specific types of products or accessories.

Minette is totally a Japanese brand not French!
