EricFive justpointed at this new lens in another thread:
http://www.cosina.co.jp/seihin/voigt/v-lens/v-l-m/35-1.4/index.html
...and I think the news deserves a thread of it's own.
It will be my next purchase.

I hope they have listened to the critique of the 40/1.4 and adjusted the signature accordingly if that is possible.

I think that’s more of a Leicaphile myth rather than an actual fault, I suspect it will effect this one just as badly

If you go into the Cosina site normally and go the the L&VM lens page, you end up here:http://www.cosina.co.jp/seihin/voigt/v-lens/v-l-m/index.html
No mention of this lens or diagram but some oldies are there. Click on several of the lenses on the left and it still doesn't show. However try the 40 classic or a couple of others and suddenly it appears. http://www.cosina.co.jp/seihin/voigt/v-lens/v-l-m/40-1.4/index.html

It is M mount since it claims focusing from 0.7m.

In the UK, Ffordes are very good. https://secure.ffordes.com/index.htm
Others have also spoken very highly of Robert White (The UK importer). http://www.robertwhite.co.uk/
I am sure others can add some names.

Agreed with both, and Robert White is exceptional. Aperture Photographic is the other one I would mention: http://www.apertureuk.com/

The lens formula is the same as the first generation of 35mm summicron, and hope that we have a similar signature and a wider aparture for bonus.

Ha nice !
Too bad they keep putting that chrome ring that looks like a bayonet on the front, I'd prefer a complete black look instead.

I wonder if it is a modern version of the pre asph lux size wise. If it is then it would be an interesting lens for 35mm FL RF users.
