Hi experts.
I am having some colour problems when scanning my NPS negs with the NikV scanner (and software).
I cannot seem to get the colours right straight from scan.
More often than not, it either has too much magenta or greenish hue to the images.
Its getting to be frustrating.

The images are taken in daylight or in shaded outside areas.

On the other hand, I havent had too much problems scanning my NPZ negs.
Those are generally taken indoors (with fluoro/incande lighting).
Even outdoor sunlit shots havent been a pain to scan (as compared to NPS)

could someone offer me some insights/advise?
many thanks

If you're using Vuescan, you can pick a spot that's white/grey/black and use it to adjust the white balance. Failing that, bring it into Photoshop and try autolevels, or use the curves tool to set the grey point.

Sorry if these suggestions are overly simplistic but you didn't say what software you're using, or what you've tried so far.

I would suggest:

- a) Exploring the parameters of your Nikon software to get to grips with NPS, even if that means resetting to the original defaults and working from there.

- b) Give VueScan a go. With past scanners, this has worked where the "official" manufacturer-provided software came up short.
