For me it is canon rangefinders, yashica rangefinders and retinas. I have a few of them and I seldom use them and when I read about them here, I ask myself why I shoot Bessa R or M2 and I feel an impulse to load them up.

Happened to me this weekend.
Took the neglected Minolta CLE off the shelf, loaded it with Tri-X, put a 21 Super Elmar on the front, a viewfinder on the top and set it ti f/8. Instant compact point and shoot. Stopped me lusting after a Ricoh GR21.

Technically, this would be GESP...gear exercise syndrome by proxy. As with GAS, there is no cure.

I know what you are talking about. I've done that with my original camera, an Olympus OM-1MD.
The threads in the SLR forums about Zuikos and Olympus cameras induce GAS, and it is a great feeling to just go pick it up and take it for another spin. The learning curve is zero, too, which is the best part - other than the cost being zero.

For me it is my Rolleiflex, just framed some prints my office wall and am stunned how well they come out. Makes me want to go out and get a Rolleicord just so I will take it on any holiday I go one and not make excuse on not having room.
For me, it's been the M8 recently. I was thinking of selling it, but then got into it again.

yes but I wouldnt call it GAS though because youve already acquired it. Ive experienced that with a Ciroflex F. I loved it I had to have it, I started liking it less and less, it sat and sat, I read about it again, fell back in love and start using it.

I was just reading about the Mamiya NC1000 in a few threads going around lately and lent it to my girlfriend, who as been wanting an SLR with a working light meter. Now when she has it, I always wanna use it, hahaha. It's a great little camera!

It's the reeason I can't get rid of the camera's I rarely use. I would be better of if I did them away but just the idea that one day I might get an urge to use it and do something nice with them holds me back to selle them off.

My Nikon SP gives me this all the time but I have such a hard time these days developing film due to funds and/or space constraints. I just moved, so my developing stuff isn't set up nor do I have space for it. I also don't really have money for a lab to develop the film I shoot so if i do actually shoot film, the latent images go into the fridge until someday, hopefully soon.

Shooter of Film...
I have two that would fit this scenario...
My Zone VI 4x5 view camera...in my defense I did take it out last week and actually shot with it...I didn't use 4x5 film but a 120 roll back...with the 4x5 it isn't really the camera I have GAS over but the types of lenses you find on that auction site...
I bought a Bausch & Lomb Tessar several years ago and haven't done that much with it to date...mostly testing but I need to actually use it for a project...
And my Yashicamat 124...whenever I start looking at other medium format cameras I have to remind myself that the 124 is a great little camera and that I should use it more...which I did about two week ago...the roll of developed film is still hanging in the shower...
The Yashicamat lens is what inspired me to look for the Tessar lens for the 4x5...

I own a Ricoh grv1. If I start to use it I'll never sell it, so...
...I'll sell it for seed money to buy a digital camera, that I'll probably dislike so that I can be pissed off that I sold my grv1.

For me, it's often the M7 that gives me this urge. I'll see a thread from one of you fellows with photos taken by the M7, and I'll be captivated by the colours and tones of film, and feel the urge to hear the muted click of the shutter.
Other times it's the Contax T3, especially now that the Sony RX1 has come out. The RX1 is like a digital T3, only bigger, and has a Sonnar design lens like the T3. Or it could be considered a digital Hexar AF, although the X100 is more in the vein, designwise.

My Vitessa L. Great lens (f2 Ultron); funky design (great question generator and people meeter); fits in a small, flat bag.

I keep wanting an FM2n or FM3a...something about those compact Nikon bodies...

Fuji GW680III and GSW690II. I am going to the Glass Mountains near Alpine and Marathon, TX (near Big Bend NP, sort of) in a couple of weeks, can't wait to burn though some Astia and Velvia... I am hoping the weather cooperates with my vision of big-sky vistas. I haven't loaded it since last summer.

It's my Minox. Sometimes RL gets in the way, and it gets relegated from my backpack (or barbag) into a drawer or a box. Then, days or months later, I'll get a burning desire to take it out for a walk. Or, more often, I'll end up in a situation where I wish I had it with me, and don't. That sends me searching...

This happened to me with the M6 TTL. After thoroughly enjoying shooting with the M8 for two years, I became obsessed with the M6. I've shot with it almost exclusively for the past two years.
The 500 C/M has begun to beckon of late too. As with food, I do love having a nicely stocked cupboard. It's a great antidote to "Intent to Purchase GAS". IP-GAS?

Mamiya 645 1000S with a 55mm 2.8 just sits on my shelf until I catch sight of it in just the right mood and go "I may have a broken back humping around this beastie, but I love using it nonetheless!" I dunno, it's nice being slowed down more than usual, what with the tripod and the meter and 15 shots and everything. I shouldn't like it, but I do. Weird world, eh?
Incidentally, being new kid here you'll have to bear with me I'm afraid. I understand the concept of GAS, but what exactly does it stand for again?
