HC-110 + various films?

To commemorate the year of the M8's advent, I've decided to re-dedicate myself to film by developing at home.

I want to start with a single developer for the time being. Is there any problem with using just one developer, HC-110, with the following films: Delta 100, 400, 3200 and Neopan 400, 1600?

My searches indicate that, matters of taste aside, HC-110 should be a reasonable place to start, given my film preferences. Any thoughts?

My kind of guy! The only one of your film list I have experience with is NP1600 and it really works well with that. When I got my HC-110 I also bought a bulk roll of HP5+ to go with it although I haven't developed any of that film yet. That combo was inspired by GeneW here, he has some great pictures from HC-110. Have fun!

It works great with both Neopans. I don't care for Delta at all so I don't shoot it but I suspect that type of film might require a different type of developer.

If you are looking to simplify, I would nix the Deltas and just use the Neopan's. The 1600 can be used like 3200 and the 400 can work like a 100. I basically use 400 for everything and just have some 1600 around for special occasions where I need the speed. It's a very flexible forgiving film and I find that I now use the 400 in place of FP4 which was more former 100 speed film. I just got a roll of Neopan 100 SS but haven't tried it yet.

I've been using Neopan 400 and 1600 pretty much exclusively lately. The lab that I get my film developed at uses HC-110 and I've always been pleased with the results.

Works with Delta 100 at 5 min @68. D 400 I am not sure about. That fillm doesn not seen to like older developers. It likes MDx and Xtol.

Thank you all. Decision made - I just ordered HC-110 and a few other things.

Night, my preference is neopan, too. When I can't get it, next is delta.

As you surmised, I'm simplifying things. Two or three lenses, a couple of bodies. One or two films. Develop at home.

I have really good luck with Ilford FP4 which is the landscape shot in the Distillery District and Agfa Silvertone 400 shot indoors at St. Lawernce Market.
