HC110 + Rodinal stand development

I am thinking about stand developing these mixtures HC110 +Rodinal.

Wondering what kind of mixture to make and what must be develping times ? I am using Rollei RPX400 film (It's vey much alike TRIX-400)

I am going to here just figure out developing times....and mixtures ?

What is the mixture of 1+1+200 HC 110 + Rodinal ? That I've seen mention of this connection
Is this 2,5ml HC 110 and 2,5ml Rodinal + 500ml water the 1+1+200 mixture ?



Maybe dilution 1+1 +200 HC 110 and Rodinal 1hour is ASA 400?

Maybe dilution 1+1 +200 HC 110 and Rodinal 2 hour is ASA 800?

What are your suggestions, please ?

Your dilution sounds about right, 1+1+200, I would shoot at 400. What you are trying to achieve with stand is a holding back of the highlights (compensation). You will loss a little speed with both of these developers, but as it is an unknown dilution I would stay with the 400 number and adjust after the first roll.

Agitation is problem with stand. If you don't do it you get uneven development, if you do it you will not get compensation and maybe over development. I never extended my Rodinal agitation cycle more than 4 minutes because of uneven development. HC-110 is better about uneven development for some reason.

I would be sure to shoot high contrast scenes so there will be some meaning for doing this exercise. After all is said, Stand is to under develop the highlights of high contrast scenes and really nothing else except maybe hoping for a foolproof development scheme.

I have good results with this HC 110 + Rodinal mixture.

HC 110 30ml and Rodinal 30ml to 2 liters. 7min normal agitation is ASA 400 (that is a fact)

5min normal agitation is ASA 200( that is a fact )

I am just thinking how to go furher....maybe 11min normal agitation gives me ASA800 ?


What I am going to achive this mixture...with this mixture is good tonality

I begun to think...if it is possible...to make stand development ...with this Rodinal+ HC 110. If i can get the right dilution of it.

I have noticed that stand development with only Rodinal..gives you good negatives to scan...

Maybe I can achieve good negatives to scan in stand development ...with this HC 110 + Rodinal mixture.....maybe something like 1+1+200 ?
