HCB Books: 'Europeans' or 'The Man, The Image & The World'?

I'm trying to expand my photo book collection a little. I wonder if any of you could tell me which of these books you would pick if you're looking for something a little different to the usual Henri Cartier Bresson we usually see knocking around the interwebs.

Also: I hate it when photos are printed across pages, are the photos in either of these often like that?

OK, I see that... "Ten times more isn't that much more, really" or something 🙂

But it's pretty much the most influential Cartier-Bresson book of all of them; if I had to pick one, this would be it.

I have "the man, the image and the world"

It's a great collection of his work. It contains all his well known images and a whole lot of lesser known and unknown images. Some of these are great, others are unknown for a reason. Very inspiring overall.

Most pages are layouts of two or three images in different sizes. Typically one larger and two (very) small. I prefer one image per page, but that would make for a very thick book.

Some images are printed across pages (which I hate as well). A quick flip through revealed about a dozen spreads on 350 pages of pictures.

I agree...I don't have "The Europeans", but I have this one. Good collection of well-known shots, and some lesser-known ones too. Recommended (and cheaper than the above-mentioned book!).

I have http://www.amazon.com/Henri-Cartier...1&keywords=henri+cartier+bresson+photographer. Nice book, good reproduction quality, one photo per page, large images (printed on facing pages only).

Affordable. Reasonably comprehensive. Some good text, too. The show in person was quite remarkable.
