Thirty-one years ago, when I still was a young student, I shot this by chance using an optically similar yet chrome "8 elements" Summicron, which I had on loan for some months, altogether with a Leica M2 I had loaded with some, revolutionary at that time, T-Max 100 film :
Yet this didn't make me become an auctionable legend. 😀

I knew Leitz made a 35mm Summicron in LTM in the late 1950s ...I have never seen one in person but they are known to be as rare as hen's teeth.
I had a chance to buy a Leica IIIg with a very rare rigid 50 mm Summicron in the late 1970s ..but the lens was snapped up within hours while I procrastinated . I was not self informed of what was super collectable at that time and I was more into using RF cameras and not collecting them.
Later I ended up buying that Leica IIIg body but I never bonded with that model and traded it in for a Leica M4-2.
I have a real soft spot for black paint M2s. Back in the late 90s i bought one for a song in Paris..... less than $500 USD..... & there wasn't a big rush for them
