The seller must have lost money on that one. Goes to show that putting money into old Leicas never seems to increase their value. I have a IIIf with a CLA and curtains from DAG that are worth more than the camera.
I agree with the above poster that it would have looked much better with similar black controls...with chrome controls, I would rather have a chrome body.
Does CRR have different packages as far as painting jobs are concerned, cuz I have seen some impressive paint work from him on the net?
BTW, I still think $800 was a low price for a "partial" black painted M2...but honestly, what do I know??? 😱😱
Peter at CRR repainted (and overhauled) a 1946 IIIc for me. It looks beautiful and the overhaul, 'new' rangefinder and shutter make it seem like a new camera. I can't recommend his work highly enough.
He has also refurbed a Minox B and LX for me and they are great too.
