This LED monitor looks pretty good on paper. No idea as to cost.

I was hoping for an affordable LED based graphics monitor and this just might be it.

I was hoping for a new NEC, but it wasn't in the cards.

More competition with Eizo and NEC Spectraview is good!

More info appearing on the net:

...'The headline feature of the LG 27EA83 is its impressive colour performance which includes a 27” AH-IPS panel with 99% Adobe RGB coverage and full sRGB coverage. The monitor sports 8-bit colour per subpixel with additional FRC (Frame Rate Control) processing taking this up to 10-bit. LG have factory calibrated the displays for accurate colour representation in both the native colour gamut and the selectable sRGB emulation mode. The screen also features a programmable Look-Up Table (LUT) which allows the user to perform a hardware calibration of the monitor itself directly. Unlike a normal software calibration (using the graphics card’s LUT) this provides more precise adjustments which stick regardless of application. It isn’t yet clear which calibration devices will be supported but LG plan to release their branded ‘External Calibrator’ shortly which is guaranteed to work.'

The above info also says it has matte anti-glare surface, although they modify that to 'semi-gloss' after seeing a demo.
