New seller, but if you're in the UK and can go look at it you might get a deal.

No interest, no connection to seller- only a love for the M5!

I don't understand the sale of this with it:
Black Summicron 1:4/35mm lens
I didn't think crons were ever anything but f/2... the pic of the 35 is very small and blurry... but surely the seller is reading off the lens and not the photo?

I'd want to go look at it. It's probably a typo.

A 2-lug body as late as 1974-1975? I didn't know that. The 35mm lens is for sure a tabbed, Canadian Summicron, #271xxx. Anubody have a serial number list handy? Version 3 methinks, with hood. Almost worth the opening bid price in the Old Country.

271XXX comes in at 1974 on the forloren site.

No telling what price it sells for. A clever seller would split them up. If this had come along when I was first shopping, I would have been all over it. Up to a point. Or not. Back in my Dark Ebay days I found myself paying silly crazy prices for stuff. Then I found the RFF. I haven't saved any money. I just get better stuff from nicer people.

RFF and photo.net, especially when it had the separate Leica ads section are so much more friendly for buying cameras than eBay... this M5 is a classic example of the bay's cloudiness.... who knows what the condition of the lenses are? At least here you have photographs of equipment taken by photographers - descriptions provided by people who know their cameras intimately and actually WANT the buyer to enjoy them - not just to make the money and be done with it.
