Yes. Radioactivity aside, I understand that it was replaced by the Zuiko 50mm f1.2, which has no radioactivity (or yellowing of elements), and supposedly has improved imaging performance.

I have the 50mm f1.2 and it's some lens but did cost me a far bit though ... $500.00 from memory.

I think Gavin 'fdigital' has or had one of the 55mm examples and he posted images ages ago ... it was very good from memory.

It's a lot of money but you get a lot of charisma IMO!

The 55/1.2 has a very unique way of rendering images. If I could only have two OM Zuikos, it would be the 24/2 and 55/1.2. But of course nobody owns just two 🙂

I had a pristine 55/1.2 OM for about two months before I sold it after getting a 50/1.2 in slightly worn condition. The 55/1.2 was such a beautiful, big piece of glass and took very nice, soft, creamy pictures - with a very warm tone compared to the 50/1.2. I do regret selling it somewhat, but I simply wasn't using it enough. My OM-1 is my day-to-day camera and a pristine 55/1.2 simply isn't a day-to-day lens.

I have that 50/1.2 for sale if anyone wants it. I suppose I should post it in the Classifieds but I haven't got round to it. If you're interested, pm me. I would rate the cosmetics to be about 8.5/10 and the optics to be a 9/10.

Beautiful lenses though.

I've got a 55 f/1.2 which I use on my 5D, it's very nice, although hard to nail focus wide open without LiveView. I bleached the yellow out of the glass with a week under a UV bulb, shown here (with an Aero Ektar also receiving the same treatment)
