Hi everyone,
I have this Hektor 135mm f/4.5 and wanted to clean the glass. So it is super easy to remove the head and with a spanner remove the glass for cleaning... But I may have flipped the last element because both sides look the same to me. Is there a proper orientation for this last lens or is it equal in design?

Thanks~

Steve

I suggest that you reassemble it one way, with a removable mark on one side. Then, if test photos are unsharp, take it apart and turn the thing around.

Exactly, it will be the only way to be sure. You can even do it on the same roll if you keep good records. I have one of these lenses and I looked at mine. Really can't tell anything by looking at the rear element.

Dennis Laney, Leica Collector's Guide second edition depicts the elements and their relative location. I am unable to discern a difference in the elements from the images shown. Try shooting pictures with it both ways. The lens will be most critical when shot wide open. Stopping down would IMHO tend to obscure minor differences. Good luck.
