Yes - the 28mm-e adapter has been out for a few years, and the 50mm-e one was just announced. Both keep the same f/2 as the native lens but are a little bulky.

I agree with the "rent first" comments. I found it was perfect for me, but you may find different.

Again wise words, l have never rented before, how does one go about it

Dive in buddy, most, if not all cameras, can be reacquired.
Its funny how most treat a new camera like a life changing ordeal, just be sure to get fair market value for your pentax kit, and shop around for your X100, they have become very affordable as of late.

Theres alot to love about the Fuji! There are also a fair amount of quirks in operation. The images im getting (jpeg) straight out of the camera ( i dont own a computer) are phenomenal and really make it worth loving and learning this camera. My X100 replaced color film in my bag.

It's a very useful camera for certain uses as it can be set so it's totally silent. However, for general sorts of assignments its fixed focal length lens can be limiting. I like mine very much but I have other options to shoot with as well.

lx- look at a Gariz half case, it makes the x100 perfect in my hand with a maybe additional 1/4" in height, and perfect weight. enjoy and good luck with it! daniel

I bought one eighteen months ago and haven't regretted it for a second - and with the firmware upgrades it's become better and better. The only downside is that it's driven inexorably to the X-Pro 1 that arrived in the post two days ago...

What mount is the x pro 1

The mount on the xpro 1 is Fuji's own proprietary. It is called x mount. Currently has a range of prime lenses (14-18-23-27-35-56-60) and a wide assortment of both professional grade and consumer grade zooms (10-24, 16-50, 18-55, 55-200, 50-230) a set of weather sealed zoom lens to go w/ the new xt1 body on the way as well (announced not shipping yet). The first is going to be a 18-135.

Of course u can get a third party adapter to use various legacy lenses w/ any of the Fuji x mount camera bodies.

I can't even understand why anyone would compare it to an M2. weird.

Will an M2 give you 1600 ASA? I've used my X100 for magazine shoots photographing the inside of a dark, Japanese indigo dyeing plant; my film camera would have been complete useless in the same environment. I could have fondled it, yes, but couldn't have taken a photo.

Later this week I'll send off a shoot to a newspaper, taken up in the Moroccan mountains, of dancers illuminated by a bonfire. Again, I needed 1600 ASA; my Leicas would have been completely useless.

I've detested every other digital camera I've owned; but I love my X100. It's not a Leica, no, but it's the first one that is close enough for me, and delivers the goods in terms of photos.
