Helen Hill finally says Ciao ... it's been Fun

Don has always treated me very kindly when I needed him to check out a lens for me. He had time for my lens repairs or for my curious questions on some camera or lens. Don would advise me what to do.

VanCam now lists Leica on their website as a make they service. Horst Wenzel owned VanCam before he retired and Bir Arneja took over. The guys at Kindermann in Toronto told me to ask Horst first, then VanCam when I was inquiring about a Leica CLA last year. I never bought the camera, so I never followed through, but I would definitely ask them both if I needed Leica service in Canada.

That's good info. A friend of mine in Field just last month had some work done by Horst. I hadn't spoken to Horst in more than a year. The VanCam connection is useful. I'll give them a call if i need work. Knock on wood.....it will be a while. I last spoke to Kindermann in 2018 and spoke with Gerry. He was there....but had stopped taking work. The winding road happily took me to Don G, who took very good care of my Leica M requirements... no one else had the needed parts.

Glad to hear that, as I mentioned RFF when I asked Don whether he could sell me a self timer lever for my IIIg, which is sadly missing one. He responded immediately and yes, the parts are on their way! Great service. And welcome back Helen!

First good to see you posting Helen. You have always been one of my favs around here. And agree, Don is a great guy and an amazing Leica repairman. He has always hit it out of the park when working on my cameras.

Good to see Ko still around to.
