The Leica M6 and 50summicron is the quintessential combo (next to the 35cron), so you've definitely started on the right foot in the world of RF's. Enjoy the ride.

I thought the 50 would be a good first lens. When I used to shoot with SLRs I always did well with a 50, and when I first started out that's all I had to work with.
I did find when I was on my trip in Mexico that a 35 or wider would have come in handy. So I think a 35 will be next. Not sure which one to get yet. So I'll take recommendations.
Thank you. I look forward to taking part in this community. Rangefinders are new and fun to me, although before the M6 I did have a Canonet QL17 and QL19, but I only shot a few rolls through the 17. Great results with it.
The M6 is a pure pleasure to use. I just even like having it with me and holding on to it.

[...] I registered for a while back, but had trouble being able to reply or start posts, and I couldn't get through to the administrator, but finally I sent an e-mail directly to Stephen Gandy and he fixed that.
welcome. yeah I'm not quite sure what happened there for me. But I'm glad it's fixed now. This is a great forum. Lots to look at and read. and it makes the attached pictures look good with the gray backgrounds.
