Just wanted to introduce myself... I'm new to the forum, and fairly new to rangefinders. I found this place looking for general info and well, there is so much great information and interaction here I just decided to join!

Hopefully I can contribute to the forum and learn a lot in the process! I'll try and post some pics soon.

Welcome Hexagon_Sun. We look forward to your posts and pictures. What kind of rangefinder camera do you have? You should be able to take some beautiful Winter shots up your way.

Right now I am only shooting with my Olympus XA which I carry at all times... I gave up on my SLR, was bored with it... the only other rangefinder i have is an old Fed, which I bought to "discover" rangefinders. Needless to say I fell in love with shooting the giant piece of metal but I more like the feel of it in my hands than the actual results lately (sounds wierd huh?). So I'm actually looking at the Bessa R2 and thats what led me to the forum!

What kind do you have?

Yes the New England crew is growing. Sean is with us too right?

Welcome Hexagon, looking forward to your contributions here.

Welcome Hexagon_sun,

The Bessa R2 is a good manual camera, I chose it recently and I've been very happy with the results. This group got me interested in other cameras & I've been exploring Yashicas plus other FSU cameras. You probably will too if you stick around! The members of RFF are a valuable resource for buying/swapping gear, asking questions, viewing some great work by others, etc. Be sure to post some pictures soon..

welcome!

welcome!

Welcome Hexagon_sun!
I think you'll find this group freindly and informative as I have.
Gotta watch that FSU addiction! There is a twelve step pogrom for it but it starts with "one each of every thing and" and just gets worse from there😀 !
The New England guys have organized one (or two?) field trips that sounded like alot of fun. Stick around hopefully they'll do some more.
Rob

Hey thanks for the warm welcome! And the field trip thing sounds like a blast. I'm sold on the R2... now I have to come up with some excuses to tell my wife why I need one.

Ah, the age-old problem! Do you really expect that she will/can understand?

Oh, and welcome too!

Hexagon,
Always remember the age-old phrase: "It is better to ask for forgiveness afterward, than to ask before doing". (and never hearing Yes). LOL.
And WELCOME to RFF!

Welcome, Hexagon! This is a fun forum, with interest and excitement often building upon itself... perhaps to the point of budgetary distress. 🙂

Huck and I are worked up over the new Zeiss Ikon RF camera due out in May or June. That's far enough off that we might be able to stash enough away in our piggy banks by then...

Oh man, I didn't even know about that one... It looks amazing, I'm already looking around my house for things to sell in order to have it!😀

Isn't it pretty? I'm going to have to content myself with saving for an R2C instead, but that's not exactly a terrible thing either.

See, Hexagon? It's like a disease spreading at the speed of uhh the site server! Most of us get to be wanting this, that, and those over there, and spend too much time/$ on eBay too. I think it's Joe's fault... 😀

Does anybody but me think the BBC tv show "Cash in the Attic" needs to do a show for us? For those who haven't seen it, the premise is : some one has a goal and the tv show comes to their house and finds all the things they (homeowner) has to sell. All the stuff is then put in an auction and the person gets a check.
My goal is--to go to the Ukraine and actually handle all those FSU cameras I want.
Rob😀 😀 😀
