hello,
I just came across this:
http://www.polywarmton.com/index.html
i really like the way they promote this paper and want to bring it back to life. Especially now, when everybody seems so paranoid about the future of analogue photography....

My favourite prints are still ones on Polywarmtone. I am signed up and will buy a pile if and when they get it going. I still have some pf the original Forte product, but it lasts very poorly even for printing paper.

That link is several years old. I registered about 4 years ago...with no polywarmtone in sight yet.

Besides which, late Polywarmtone was a very different paper from the previous generation. After they dropped the cadmium, on entirely reasonable environmental grounds, it was never the same.

well basically they are currently building a coating plant using old equipment from Forte, and the plant isn't finished yet.

Are they planning to do the RC version also? I'll buy those in a heartbeat.

No Philipp, they are not building a coating plant. Coating of that paper will be by InovisCoat, along with MCC and MCP.
But they try to build up the emulsion making at the plant in Bad Saarow. If successful, emulsion will be shipped to Monheim and coated there at InovisCoat.
Shipping of emulsion is not a problem. Filmotec for example has been doing this for years, because they have never had own coating at Wolfen after the old big OrWo plant was demolished.
In the past their emulsions were shipped to Forte for coating, now they are shipped to Foma.
