Help, botched cleaning job :)

Hi everyone,

I have just taken apart a russian elmar copy (something 22),
for a well needed clean - now I come to put it back together again,
how do I get it aligned properly? I have to start screwing it in from
a certain point to get the in the correct postion on the focusing scale.
Only problem is I have no idea what I am doing!
Can anyone help?
