The camera is arrived. Really niice finder etc. BUT I can't operate the lens! I can't remove it from the body neither use the focus tab, because everything is blocked...

the camera is an M2, and the lens an Elmar 50/3.5 M.

SOB...:(

ok, problem with the focusing solved (I'm a stupid guy)... but I still can't remove the lens from the body...

have u managed yet?

no... it's probably due to the fact that I've never used a camera like this, but I pressed the button on the right of the lens, and it doesn't move too much...

push the screw looking button just to the left of lens on the body and turn the lens anti clockwise

I tride, but it can't be pushed that much, and the lens doesn't turn...

You need an instruction manual for the M2 (and maybe for the Elmar).

Looking at the front of the lens, press the button next to the lens and rotate the lens counterclockwise.

hey, forcing it a bit I succeeded! Thank you, guys!

(but is it normal that it's so hard?)

now I'll go out to try the times...

Lenses fit too tight on my M2, and I had to get it fixed. I don't know exactly what they did, but it works fine now.

Yours may just be a little stiff from lack of use.

Maybe you have a different version of the manual. This one is at http://66.49.230.119/pdf_files/leica_m2.pdf

So you got one, Vin! good luck with it!

yeah!!! and it seems to work well! tonoght or tomorrow I'll develop the FIRST ROLL EXPOSED WITH MY NEW ELMAR!

I'm so happy, and I have to thank you and Rik, another dutch guy who helped me very much.:D:D:D

That's what I like about this forum - everybody gets the help he/she needs. In other places he probably would have been slapped around by some Leica-snobs.

uuh, I was forgetting: thanks, richard and nobbylon! without your help I would have probably returned the camera!
