Help Identify My Past Rangefinder Camera...

A while ago I had a used 1970's 35mm Japanese rangefinder with a fixed lens. When using a flash on this camera you set the guide number on the side of the lens. While focusing the aperture changed accordingly. The negatives and especially slides using this camera with flash came out perfect. I owned this camera for a very short time because someone offered me a trade on a 2 1/4 sq. and I accepted. I cannot remember the make and model of this camera but from what I remember it was a full bodied, well built, heavy camera, like a Konica Auto S2.

I would like to get another one for flash use so any help is greatly appreciated.

Sorry... I have no clue on why the type is so small... it looks OK on my end but I made it bigger. I hope this is better.

Konica C35 has a flash system like that. But maybe it wasn´t C35, as it´s quite small... Perhaps some other, larger, Konicas shared the same system ? Do you remember which focal length/aperture the lens was ?

Edit: More questions. Did the camera have aperture- or shutter -priority exposure system, or fully automatic ?

You just described a lot of cameras. I have deleted all my links to these guys, but google "Yashica Guy" and "Minolta Users Group". Both have complete listings with pictures of the Electros and Hi Matics. That will cover a big portion of the suspects. I don't know that there is as complete list of the Canons, but google "Canonet" and you will find articles. Of course our friend at Cameraquest has a lot of info on these cameras.
 
Equally could have been a Petri, or an original Canonet QL19

There are lots to choose from - why not check out the Canonet GIII QL17 - it has that feature and a great lens?
 
I can only speak for the 35-RC but I think that Olympus rangefinders also have a similar guide number system for flash.
 
I have a Vivitar 35EE that has the same feature.
George, I think we all need more info to help you! Or, you could just treat the suggestions/ideas in this thread as a shopping list!:D

Now all I have to do is get one.
