Help identifying a camera

Indeed. The Chinon is very similar. My mother is now almost sure that it was a Konica. The mind can play tricks though so...

I'm not sure I understand Xayraa33's explanation though.

If you matched the edge where the VF is by your superimposition then the camera your dad used has got to be larger than a Konica C35 when you can see the other side's corner edge ( where his shutter pressing finger is) goes beyond the dimensions of the Konica C35.

Hint: try super enlarging the cameras name plate.

Thanks everyone. I enlarged the Konica a little and get an even better fit. I think it was a little small is all. The angle isn't exactly the same either so it might be impossible to reporduce the camera exactly. The Yashica's Focus patch doesn't line up as well. It seems to be a little more centered over the lens compared to the Konica.

Unfortunately The picture of my father was printed on some crappy textured paper 4x4. I'm already pretty impressed with what I can make out. However now way I could make out any more detail. It is very difficult to see where the edges of the camera actually start. Konica is still in the lead.

BTW, the shutter button also lines up perfect.

So I settled on the Konica c35 and bought one. It came in yesterday. Mint with the case and manual and all. WHAT A POS! Man these cameras were not built very solid. I can't believe there are so many of them still out there. This will remain on the shelf in my collection I guess. My QL17 is a Leica compared to this. LOL oh well :)
