Help! Just bought a Bessa L and I know nothing about Bessas!

The L is a wonderful first place to start. While the adapter will give you access to lenses you already have I would STRONGLY recommend that you look into a CV 25/4 LTM (with finder). All current CV lenses are great, but IMHO this one is world class. It's made for zone focusing (aka guessing), sharp, flare resistant and SMALL. Small is what makes the combo perfect to carry everywhere. When I started with mine a long time ago I thought f4 was too slow, but then I learned to get creative. I found that finding a door frame or a chair top worked great for show shutter speeds inside. Outside the lens is a dream, close her down and shoot. The size of the combo allowed me to stick her into a small belt pouch and carry it anywhere I wanted without feeling weighed down.

Have a look at old Canon rf lenses. There are great 35's, the 25mm is fantastic and extremely small. There are also mutifocal finders. Not as bright as fixed focal finders, but hey, they show multiple frames. There are ones that show like 25mm or wider (full image view without frames).

That's kind of what I was figuring on doing before I bought the camera - finding some different, less expensive brands of lenses. But that was before i read about the adapter - Wouldn't a Canon FD be as good as a Canon RF lens? I mean optically speaking rather than smaller or lighter or anything.

As far as the viewfinder, I just purchased one off of eB@y, a T.O.C. Universal that covers from 28-135. I haven't found much about this particular finder, except for another thread where a someone mentioned that they had one and liked it.
