Hi all,

My CV Nokton 50/1.5 has recently developed a nasty wobble, which seems to be getting worse. The front section of the lens has become quite loose (from the filter ring to the section around which the aperture ring rotates. (including the aperture ring itself)
The glass itself doesn´t seem to be loose.

I´m worried to use the lens now in case it gets evern worse and self-disassembles!

Have any of you experienced this and is it easily repairable?

Cheers!

Nick

I think I would have that looked at by a qualified repair person. Where did you buy it? It may still be under warrantee. If not I would contact Robert White. They are a dealer and they suport the RF Forum as does Shpoto.

Best of luck,

Bob

FWIW....I've developed a bit of a wobble myself. I thinks it's because I'm getting older.

I think this is the same problem I had when I first got my Nokton. You can check it yourself without causing any damage, and then if necessary, send it to a repair person.
  1. Remove the screw-in hood and any filters.
  2. Gently unscrew the name ring from the front of the lens. Try using the eraser end of a pencil.
  3. There are three small, black screws underneath the name ring. If these are loose, gently tighten them. Do not over-tighten!
  4. Don't touch the small silver screw with the slotted head; I don't know what it does.
  5. Replace the name ring, filters, and/or hood.
Cheers,
BJ

This issue is known for the 50 and the 40 Nokton. My 40 is slightly wobbling too. AFAIR this was discussed here in this forum, and there was a how-to-repair thread abiout it, too. It needs a quite deep disassembling if i remember well. Search for it.

Thanks for the feedback! I had done a search but found nothing. The lens was bought used from a member here over a year ago, it was fine when I received it, just recently it has been playing up.

I'll have a look under the name ring to see if I can see anything. Fingers crossed!

Cheers

Hi Chenick,

I had the same problem with my 35 ultron. There is a repair guide on Photo.net.
It is fairly easy to fix but does involve going into the lens a bit.
