help needed with Olympus 35 LC

I'm just wondering if anyone can offer me any tips for cleaning the rangefinder in this camera, are there any pitfalls I need to know about before removing the top cover etc. any tips would be much appreciated. the camera is mint so I'm cautious about taking it apart.

I've never done it, but I imagine there's a wire to the hot shoe to consider, and perhaps some complication with the top deck meter display.
