Hi, i recently acquired a hi matic 7.
I tested the camera with a roll of colour film and they all turned out reasonbly ok.
When i used a roll of B&W XP2 super... I was stunned at the superb quality (imho anyway).
However, some of the shots just didnt turn out. On the index sheet, the thumbnails for these missing shots were just black. Now, being a relative newbie to this all, I can accept that maybe i forgot to take the lens cap off... but certainly not for so many!
Can anyone work out why this happened? What's wrong with my camera? Or is it an issue with film development?

Do you store the camera with the shutter cocked? Could the shutter be firing while bouncing around in your camera bag inadvertently?

either that or your shutter is sticking and not opening for some shots.
open the back and shoot at different speeds and openings and see what's going on in there.

What can be done a about sticky shutter if that's the case?
