I recently was selected to be one of the artists in the Artist Exhibit Program which is held by the Artist Alliance of the county where I live. I am to provide 8 images, which will be displayed at a local hospital for several months.
Would you be willing to take a few moments of your time, select your favorite 8 images out of the 24 displayed and let me know your choices, either by posting here or by PM? The images are numbered (i.e. Image # 1, Image # 2, etc) and are at my web site which can be found here:
http://www.pbase.com/ornate_wrasse/artistexhibitprogram
A few of the images were taken with rangefinders (Leica, R-D1 and Mamiya 6) and the rest were taken by one of my SLRs.
If you don't have the time to select 8 images (that's a lot to ask of busy people), it would be helpful to me if you could just pick your favorite 3 or 5 images.
Thank you for your help!

I would avoid numbers: 2, 19, 20 and 25, because they could look like some medical issues.
Otherwise they all look OK - I mean, they are colourful.
Last thing: taking pictures is easy, editing is difficult. You have to train yourself.

What? No pics of wrasses?
i would avoid waterfalls. #1 has some serious JPEG problems -i guess thats only on this web version.
#6 is nice indeed. I also like #2,4,18,25,27.

Location being a key to the selection, how about:
1,8,12,13,16,22 for starters.
Can't imagine that there will be a great deal of agreement though.

Interesting that you mentioned that

Yep. It's only a 202 KB file so I'm not surprised. I'll use a better image when the print is made for the exhibit.

Can you please explain what you mean when you say "they could look like some medical issues"?

Why? Because it's better for your photos to work as a set rather than individually and to me the outstanding images are the underwater ones.

I wish I could magically change the location of the images so as to circumvent images being chosen for their location.
Surprisingly, there are some images that are chosen by nearly everyone. Of course, there is plenty of disagreement but already a few of the images are standing out as universal top choices.

Thank you all for helping me choose the images for my exhibit!
It was enormously helpful to me as I go about whittling the number down to 8.

I didn't make my comment clear enough - sorry.
By location I was referring to where the prints were to be hung. I would suspect that who the majority of viewers might be, could influence the choice of subject matter displayed - with what will they most identify?
Whatever, seems as if you are having fun!

Absolutely. In this case the prints will be hung in a local hospital.
Thanks for the clarification!

OP's please take the time to post in the most appropriate forum.
It might not make a lot of difference initially, but it will make a big difference months from now when someone is trying to find your subject matter.
Thanks,
Stephen

Thank You!!
Interestingly, my heritage on my father's side is from Lithuania. They came over in the 1880's from a town named Telz.
All the best,

I had absolutely no idea that a separate forum existed for exhibits.
Thank you for pointing that out.
I'll be sure to do as you request.
