Help! Stop me buying an MP!

So, I put on my M3 (for credibilty) and hobbled in on my crutches to one of the Leica dealers here. Guess what? He had a Leica a la carte with Racing Green for sale (at normal MP price). Unfortunately, it was silver chrome, which IMHO doesn't work. Probably takes pictures the same, but no.

Ooh, REALLY? That's exactly what I want. What framelines?

Never mind, I'd have to sell a kidney.

All of them, except the 75. Why does everyone hate the 75?

Shame about the kidney. Maybe you could sell a kidney, get the MP, become a famous photographer (because of the MP) and then *buy* a kidney later?

But to be frank -- I lusted pretty hard after an MP until I played with one side by side with my M3. They are not really different enough to make the MP a leaps and bounds improvement over the M3 (says she who is happy using the framelines she has, which may be affected by the fact that she only owns one M lens).

The MP viewfinder was significantly brighter than on my M3.

With an M3 and an M7 I'd think you already have the bases covered more or less.

But hey, if you can afford it, why not?

Who said I could afford it? I just have a good credit rating 🙁

I don't think someone on street realy nows what you are using while taking photos with a MP,
mostly they think it's a old camera and they are not realy interessted in that camera.
People don't think such a old fashiond film camera is very expensiv.
There is now big Leica name on it and the famos red dot is missing.
They even do not take care of you when you are taking photos.

This is one the features of this small splendit camera

The muggers in Munich would be refined muggers, and know all about MPs. Luckily, we don't have any muggers here - crime is illegal in Germany, you know!

Ok, I'm the one who owns one, and I love it, yeah it's a great lense.
Small, less weight and perfect to use on a MP.
I also have an old 90mm Elmar but that's not my favorite one,
most time it's in my glass cabinet 🙂

When I'm out, I need the 35, 50 and 75 'crons.

don't hesitate, buy it, use it.

Dear colin

the more you write about a mp the more you will feel the need to buy one. Maybe the idea of selling one or both of your cameras isn´t that bad. If you can´t resist go for the mp. You won´t regret it.
