Help with removing a Leica IIIC top plate

Has any one removed the top plate of a Leica IIIC ? If someone has done this I would like to know if it is a difficult task for a someone other than a camera repair expert.

It's not difficult but you could damage the camera if you don't know what you are doing and you need specialized tools. Part of the disassembly involves removing components of the rangefinder which then requires re-alignment and removal of the transport mechanism is also required.

You'll need various size jewlers screwdrivers and flexiclamps.

I would advise letting a qualified repairman do it.
