what is a selsey flash baseplate. i've just been to a salvation army store in toronto and bought a box containing 11 (LEICA SELSEY FLASH BASEPLATES) for 3 dollars. what are they for. value?

oh! and also in the box are 5 CTOOM flash brackets. are they for M or Barnack?

the CTOOMs are metal and have 3 different selectable "holes" for attaching to camera baseplate. will post pics soon. i tried them on my IIIC but alas the screw thread is smaller, read more modern than the socket on my baseplate. so i'm guessing they're designed for the M. BTW, there's also some grey Leica spare spools (designated 14015). again, tried them on my IIIc-no cigar!
