The jump to call this racist feels a bit misaimed to me. I would call it buggy or sophomoric as it does not fulfill the goals of the software for all potential customers.

Really shallow testing but not a surprise as every tries to cut back and save a buck/euro/yen/pound.

I just find it amusing that a) a Japanese company would make a camera with face-detect that doesn't recognize Asians and b) people would actually think this is racism.
