I've just got my TTL back after a service and found it won't let my 28mm Hexanon lock into place. It fits my M6 classic and M8 without any issues. Does anyone know of any issues here or do I have a real problem?

Many Thanks

Never heard of that, but let your repair person or place know the dimensions of the M-Hexanon, it's like a v4 Elmarit (optical design), yet sharper than any RF 28 that I'm aware of, so you will probably want to get your TTL fixed.

I had the same issue with an M6 TTL and 35mm Summicron ASPH. The best explanation I could find was that the flanges for each were at opposite, extreme ends of their tolerance ranges.

I sent the then newly purchased camera body and lens back to the dealer, who swore they couldn't find an issue and that the two mated perfectly.

When they were returned, I found that they had the same tightness as when I'd sent them off. After getting a few pointers from other people, I summoned the nerve to push the lens past what had felt applying like too much force. The lens then snapped cleanly into place. It took removing and mounting the lens a few times, but it now mounts without concern after this "loosening excercise".

While I can't say with certainty that the same treatment will work without ill effects on your camera and lens, my experience was a success.

Took your advice when I got home dof and gave it a good hard twist, it worked a treat and now goes on and off nice and easily.

Thanks everyone

You're going to like it over here ... that's our motto!

"If it won't move force it ... if it breaks it means it needed replacing anyway!" :p
