Idly searching ebay, I find currently 10 examples of the LTM Hexanon 50f1.9 at between about $1000 and $1500 and 4 LTM Hexar 50f3.5 at $750-1000. (1950s lenses, well made, sharp, but --)
Really so pricey?
So many out there?
Just surprised, fine lenses, but my price would be $200-300.

Yes...fine lenses, indeed!, but it IS amazing how the price of 'fashion' and 'legend' has escalated recently!Idly searching ebay, I find currently 10 examples of the LTM Hexanon 50f1.9 at between about $1000 and $1500 and 4 LTM Hexar 50f3.5 at $750-1000. (1950s lenses, well made, sharp, but --)

Some really funny things on the bay lately.
More "origininal" BP M2's than chrome ones.

I'd love to shoot an old LTM Hexanon, since they would complement my other M-Hexanons so nicely and since I really admire the Hexanons quality, even in an old AF-2 or a C35 camera.
But I refuse to pay a price like that. My limit would be like USD 450 for a truly mint lens with caps. So, no LTM Hexanons for now...

They are priced for collectors now.
but mind you these lenses were not that common in the good old days.
Hexanon LTM lenses were found on the not very common Leica copies, like Chiyoca and Chiyotax.
