has anyone ever tried remounting the hexar AF lens onto an M mount. I love my AF to bits and would love to use the lens on my M8 too!

I thought about it and would advise against it. Because of the internal shutter.

Get an LTM UC Hexanon, or if you want single-coated and more classic rendering, the classic Nikkor 35/1.8. Basically the same lenses.

Cheers,

Roland.

As far as I remember, one of the brilliant things on the Hexar AF is that it electronically compensate for focus shift.
The same lens with a mechanical focus could perform quite differently from it...
Maybe the uc has been tweeked to minimize the issue...

Plus electronic focussing system and aperture control. Even if such a modification could be done, buying a UC-Hexanon will probably be eventually a lot cheaper, not to mention more ergonomic.

Something about voiding the warranty...? Honestly never tried to unmount the lens from my AF (when I had one).
