Hexar RF and 50mm Summitar

Hi there,

I just purchased a Hexar RF and I'm very much liking the camera. Does anyone know if it is safe to collapse a 50mm Summitar into the body? I searched and found that it is safe to collapse a 50mm Elmar but I couldn't find any info about the Summitar.

I have a collapsed summicron on it as we speak, works perfect, if that tells you anything.

one way I made sure my leica CL was ok with a collapsible cron was to keep the shutter open on B, and carefully mount the lens while controlling everything through the open back.

Thanks everyone. I mounted the Summitar and collapsed it with the shutter door open. There is actually plenty of room. All is good now. 🙂
