Hexar RF - massive vertical RF misalignment

I bought a Hexar RF bundle about 6 weeks ago for a good price. Before I could use the body, I dropped it off a shelf...that was only 4 inches off the ground. But still (whether due to the fall or not, I have no way of telling), the vertical RF alignment was out. I've had a little read about the adjustments that are possible, so I popped off the rubber cap on the top plate to have a look at how easily those controls were accessed. Long story short...things are now worse. I've been able to rotate the control for the vertical alignment, but it is now out by the whole height of the RF patch! I think something has popped out from somewhere - a shim or similar. There is a lot of vertical play in the RF mechanism and the the RF cam in the film chamber that I don't think should be there.

So...has anyone seen similar problems when attempting to adjust their Hexar's rangefinder? Are there any common misalignments, adjustments, problem parts that can cause such large deviations in the RF path?

Secondly...any recommendation in the UK/EU for technicians who work on Konicas? If not, I'll give Malcolm Taylor a call and see if he has any expereince with these bodies.

That's a Hexar RF and a Bronica RF645 in short succession that have become unusable. I'm not on a good run.

I'm thinking I might pull the plug on the Hexar - I don't have the money or inclination to get the body back up to scratch. I think I'll put the set for sale in the classifieds and see if anyone is willing to put in the effort to get the rangefinder patched up (if you'll pardon the pun).

hmm... i think u should get it fixed. Its an awesome camera when fixed. The .60 mag is just nice for shooting 50s and below. I know i sold my M7 after i got my RF as i saw no use for a more expensive camera of the similar function!

at least get an estimate as to how much it'd cost to fix it before selling, it should also help with pricing it in case you really decide to sell it.
