Pretty good clue the problem is related to the back switch, huh.
Yeah, sounds vaguely familiar. 🙂

Perhaps this might clear up the error-code mystery (a bit).
I recall getting a "10" error code on my first Hex RF two months after purchasing it. Got sent in (Konica-Minolta in NJ), came back, and that was it. The only other hiccup the camera suffered was a result of shooting with flash, with dirty hot-shoe contacts, where the camera would spontaneously rewind the film well before reaching the last frame. Once I cleaned the contacts, the problem disappeared.
Near as I can recall, Hex #2 hasn't had any problems.

Good luck with Sony, Royale!
Update for me too... I just checked my "Repair Status" with Precision, and I see as of yesterday after 26 days "In Repair" my HRF is "Out of Repair" and "Ship Confirmed" with a UPS tracking number for 3-Day Select. Man I hope they got it right this time, and that this time will be the last time.
I just got a call from Sony Servicing center.
Technician told me they couldnt do the servicing here in Singapore & they had to send it back to Japan.
I nearly chocked on my coffee in the office when he told me it was SGD500, which prob is about USD357 for repair charges. 😱 Estimated of course.......
Because the technician over here cant confirm what parts need to be replaced, so it could be cheaper. He did how ever said that it seems like just an error in the circuitry.
I'll most likely go ahead with the camera being sent to Japan!
Thanks for the updates. It;s great that Singapore Sony still handle the service (I mean they help to arrange sending the camera to Japan for a service). For me, the price is not too high. At least I know my RF can get repaired if it has any issue in the future.
