Is Hexar RF still considered a good M-mount camera? I remember it was well received a few years ago but I haven't been following rangefinders for a while. Trying to get up to speed again.

The funny thing is that I see a lot of people praising this camera here but I have been trying to sell a new one for a month and have not gotten much interest.

Not a lot of people can fix broken hexars, so that's another thing to take into account.

Have a look at the dedicated forum here and take your decision. I own one and it is my main M camera. Will buy a second for shure.

I absolutely adore the Hexar RF. But I need to have two of them, in case one ever breaks. I'm pretty sure the repair situation is "impossible" or the next-best thing, these days.
Also note that while nearly as good as the equivalent Leica finder (.60x vs .58x) how far it misses by is more important to some than to others. Eye position is important when focusing the Hexar RF in a way it is not (or mostly isn't) with a Leica finder.
Some here have had bad luck with their Hexar RFs: look around or wait a while on this thread and you'll no-doubt see the stories. It is hard to know how typical they are of the camera in wider use. Me, I'm just glad I've had good luck with mine.

Not true at all. I run my repair service and have all Konica cameras serviced by Konica themselves. Turnaround is usually about 2 weeks (depending on the problem), but they will fix just about anything. I have had one RF that looked like it had been in a chimp enclosure for a week, but it came back with a brand new finder, new shutter and working perfectly.

May depend on where you're located & what repairs are required. The Hexar RF shared a lot of parts w/the Kyocera Contax G2 & G1 (& probably other cameras), so anyplace that fixes them (& there are many outside Japan, e.g., Essex/Camerarepair.com in the U.S.) could easily do the same for the Hexar. I think the only problematic repairs would be those that require parts that were unique to the Hexar RF (VF/RF widgets, maybe?) & I'm not sure how common those really are.

Could you please ask about the availability of parts in general and of RF assemblies in particular.
I have heard that almost all the parts went to the dumpster after konica was bought by minolta (or was it after minolta was bought by sony?)
This and the fact that some early RF are said to be off and unrepairable are the main reasons why I am keeping away from the RF.
