Now if only they had an SCTV bag.....
any brown paper bag from a liqour store is an SCTV bag.
I actually appeared in a kids game show called Hi-Q at the same studio SCTV was recorded in when I was in elementary school

She loves vintage stuff. If I got it for her I'd have to tell her I got at a flea market for a dollar!

it certainly beats a cocaine obsession...i also like flashlights and knives...
Yep. Camera Bags, Flashlights and knives. Me too.
So what are your preferences in knives? I like Chris Reeve; Timberline (made in Mancos, Colorado); Spyderco; Ruffin Johnson; Cold Steel.
Flashlights: old Ray-O-Vacs, Maglite; and some of the newer LED types, which are so much lighter ands smaller!
I'm debating right now which to take to Colorado next week, as I debate which cameras to take (but I mostly know).

i don't really 'collect' them...i buy them occasionally from places like 'canadian tire'...the funkier looking the better.
my last folding pocket knife is a cheap buck.

i bought this one...CBC/Radio-Canada Mobile Recording Shoulder Bag
out on whyte avenue today and passed this funky little shop and found this bag...i fit in a couple of domke inserts and voila...a proud canadian stealth camera bag.
I have a soft spot for casual but rugged canvas bags.
Those a cool!
I've heard knife collections, but tell me more about flashlights... do you collect vintage ones, or only modern ones ?

i can't honestly say that i collect them in the standard sense of the word.
i do seem to own quite a few flaslights though...i like one that can be hung on my belt or in a pocket...i like really powerful ones that light up a night sky...i like flashing ones-good for an accident scene...or one that you can read by in a camping tent, lantern style.
i think it's a good idea to have one in every room.

For reading in the tent, Sue and I use a Coleman battery powered fluorescent light. It gives a good light and the batteries last longer. It has a wide enough base to stand up on the tent floor and not fall over, and tall enough to light an area. We use it, and a propane lamp, for cooking at night. (you can't use propane inside the tent!)

Beautiful bags, I already found the one I would like to have but I'm afraid it is more expensive shipment to Italy than the bag itself!

joe, is the strap on the bag you bought detachable, or sewn in?

sewn in and on the short side.
it's a cool bag but not ideal.

Well, that's a bit of a deal breaker. Not the short (you've met me
), but the sewn in. Being able to replace a strap easily is important for me.

honestly, this is a funky bag, throw in a camera, your cell phone and go for a walk...it's not a serious camera bag...i used it today on a riverboat cruise...it was a work thing...i threw in my d200 with a 40 on it and my 85...cell phone, sun glassess, extra battery...it was fine and fun...put on old bar towel on the bottom for some padding...i felt younger for a few minutes...
