I have been keeping my eye out for a reasonably priced enlarger and some equipment on the used market. Saw an ad the other day and went today to have a look. All of the equipment was brand new in the boxes - never used. Included:

Omega B66XL with Chromega B head
GraLab 300 timer
safelight
large easel
set of 3 8x10 trays
set of 3 11x14 trays
2 Cibachrome drums
Paterson focuser
2 stainless negative tanks with 2 extra spools (plus the two in each tank)
negative hangars, squeegees, etc.
2 stainless thermometers
some graduated cylinders, funnels, beakers, etc.
5 accordian style chemical bottles
miscellaneous darkroom books
bunch of chemicals (left them for him to dispose of!)

Total price was $175 Cdn (about $160 USD). I can't believe the way prices are falling on some of this equipment. Good deal I think and I will use it all (with the exception of the Cibachrome stuff).

Point taken! Unfortunately, we are relocating end of July. They are framing our new house as I type, so I had them do a slight revision for a darkroom. Get it wired and plumbed properly from the start. Should have it set up sometime in September and finally be able to get printing. Its a good time to read those books that came with it.

That's great! I would like to have a setup like that one day. Unfortunately I don't have the space nor the money for that. I've been looking for expensive enlargers like the Leica Focomat (But they're not so expensive nowdays). I have to rely on my high schools darkroom wich is really nice but a little small and the ventilation doesn't really work. The chemicals get to you on your long darkroom days 🙂 Anyway, have fun with your gear, I'm a little jealous!

I hate you...I just made some prints today in my temp darkroom (bathroom)...
I told my daughter that when she moves out I'm taking over her bathroom and setting up a "more than temporary" darkroom in there...😱

There are precious few areas of the house that I can still call my own. Even the time honoured garage has fallen prey to my wife's cars and the kid's toys and bikes. But I'm holding onto that 10'x10' room in the basement for a darkroom. (of course I might need to move a cot in there to sleep as well!) 🙂
