I wouldn't mind my black camera showing a little brass. I'm just worried about it turning into my brass camera showing a little paint. I'm simply getting a feel for typical wear patterns and those who posted photos and input have been a lot of help.

anita, i'm wondering if you are ever gonna take any picture with that bloody camera or you're just buying it because it's something nice to look at...

When I had a MP it seemed to not brass easily. I used the camera alot and didn't baby it, nor use a case. This is about two years of use.
These pics were months before I finally sold it--thinking I could get by with a M6! Can't wait for my ala carte M7
Wear was limited to the advance lever, shutter speed dial, the bottom of the 'vit, and the corners. Buy the MP, shoot the heck out of it, and enjoy an awesome camera.

I'm very flattered that you are so concerned about how I will use my camera. Thank you for your kindness.

That's nice to know Moof, I'm hoping to have more gradual wear over many, many years. Oh and excellent photos wjlapier!

Thanx!
I fell for the "M6 is the same as MP" and sold the MP/'vit and bought a M6. While the M6 I had was a very nice camera I tried a M7 and then knew which M was for me. Actually, I don't miss the MP much. The M6 was tough to let go because it was a early Wetzlar version and I added black chrome MP style levers. Very smooth shooting camera. But after ordering an ala carte M7, it was time to let go of the M6.

Luke, can I suggest you to remove the Super Ugly CE marked plastic sticker on the bottom of your wonderful MP.
If you leave it, in 20 years from now it will look strange, with a brand new bottom and completly brassy top

I had an early Wetzlar m6 too! I truly loved it and hoped to keep It forever. Boxed, all documentation, etc. However, my wife is in medical school and I stay home with the baby, (and freelance write) so in order to get an MP, selling was not an option. However, it went to a good home and I'm really glad a fellow forum member ended up with it! (By the way, sir, how is that camera working out for you? Have you posted any images yet?)

I don't have a wonderful MP yet! But when I do, I'll be removing all stickers! I can't stand stickers or the plastic film on the bottom. However, they're nice when buying used!
