Hey! My Jupiter 8 IS good!

D`oh, I moaned about my horrible J8 in the "new lens(es)" thread some days ago, turned out I had some exhausted fix that ruined the shots. I got suspicious when my brand new CV 35mm Classic shots looked just as bad....
So I mixed up some fresh fix and it came alive!😛

I like the Jupiter! It has a nice softness wide open:

that second shot does look nice and sharp on my monitor.

Looking good, Amund; cute shots of your son! Cute little Smart car, too; we saw some of those when visiting Spain a couple years ago. They're not sold in the US.

I get good clean sharp results too with the J8M; this is on XP2 at f8, 1/10s, M2 flashbulb (bounced), Kiev 4M. I prefer the Jupiter to the Helios.

Good news its not a lens problem, I think your second shot is cool 🙂

Here is a shot with my Black J8 & FED2. Out of date Fuji MS100/1000 @ 50 ISO crossprocessed C41, scanned from print. I think the J8's are great lenses, such a steal for the price.

All the pictures in my last roll were taken with the J8 on the Fed2 and I'm really happy with the results. The Fed may not look like an state-of-the-art camera at first sight but it always surprises me with the results.

Too bad the lens doesn't seem to screw properly on my just received Canon 7. Amund did you experience some problem with that lens on your Bessa ? Mine is a J8 chrome version, from 1955.

Bad luck then, seems the C7+J8 combo is not going to be after all 🙁
