Hints? Retina II CLA

I've borrowed the appropriate wrench to remove the inner ring, but I'm so far unable to budge it. Is there any trick to this? IIUC it is a left hand thread and I've been soaking the rings in naptha.

Any ideas greatfully accepted.

I have replaced the lens on a IIc. Inside module Came off fairly easily. I have a parts IIa. The knob advance of the II is "reverse threaded". I removed mine to clean the badly fogged finder. The front module of the IIa comes off fairly easily, normal threading. I've never done the rear module.

No, that's the one for the rear lens element. It came out just fine. Once that is removed there is another ring inside of that that holds the whole shutter/helical assembly in. Remove that one and the whole thing slides out the front of the camera. I've borrowed the appropriate wrench for that ring, but I can't get it to budge and I'm trying to make sure I'm doing it right before forcing/breaking something.

Nail polish remover? Haven't tried that one yet - think acetone would work better than the naptha?

Gotcha. Thanks for the tip, I'll swing over to Walgreens later as I don't think we have any in the house.

I just removed the lens combo from a IIa and that ring in question just unscrewed normally, with normal threads. Sounds like your's is really stuck. Good luck.
