The hippies one was on Ilford Delta 100, f/2.5 and 1/2sec on the M3 (practicing mad sniper slow-speed handholding skills), the star thing was with a star and red filter on Provia 100, the others were Tri-X 400 on the same camera.

Great job on the slow handheld shot ! However, you should have set the hippies tires on fire. Then... taken some more pics. That would have lit their fire.

I'm not so sure about that. Punks and anarchists are mostly into comfort. Typically they drive nicer cars and sleep in hotel-motel beds... seldom if ever in crappy cars in a parking lot.

I was definitely a hippy for a while back then. It's not such a bad thing: sex, drugs, rock+roll, especially when you consider the alternatives for young people searching for meaning and identity: skin head neo-nazi and other hate groups.

Hey! I've got my skinhead tendencies still. Don't make the mistake of thinking that skins, by definition, are neo-Nazi: it's certainly not related to the original movement, which sprung from identification with west-Indian dockworkers in England. Nazi skins are an embarrassment: I dislike them more than smelly modern hippies.

If you want to look back, hippies and skinheads come from the same roots: the mod movement, with hippies developing from the soft mod side and skins from the hard mod.

Like I said, I was a hippy/back to the land/build a solar house/heat with wood/grow your own, kind of guy for a while and I think I turned out all right after that particular developmental stage in my life. I still have an anti-establishment streak, though.
