Historical Camera Commercials

I just picked up a February 1936 issue of Fortune Magazine, the cover story of which was about "Mini Cams." It provided a neat profile of Leica and Contax. Fortune of that era ran some of the most beautifully constructed advertising ever to grace a magazine. Some of the industrial ads are true masterpieces.

Love them ads... they're written for people who read. They were meant to persuade, convince, gain a foothold in your brain. Now, the main idea is to impress you and then you may not recall what's being sold, but you won't forget the ad.

Oh, well, o tempora, o mores...

I have just figured out that my dad has amateur photography magazines from 1977.

I will scan and post them here. they look amazing....M4 body is 150 sterlin
