This was my view last night at my neighbour's house, watching the Leafs defeat Buffalo. 🙂

Nice Dog. More dependable than the Leafs I'm sure. 🙂

HNIC has really declined if you are a Habs or Flames fan - its just Leafs Leafs Leafs,...well at least till the playoffs

Sorry couldn't resist

Hey, last year was the first time in a long time that the Leafs didn't make the playoffs. They usually at least knock Ottawa out first!
(Help me out here, Earl!)
🙂

Ouch rhogg! Funny, and true, but ouch! 😱

I was able to watch the CBC HNIC coverage of the playoffs last year here in the US Midwest. Too bad it's not something we get exposed to more without the premium pay package, but I enjoyed it a lot.

Now to suffer through another year as a Blues fan... 🙁

Well... I didn't really know the leafs playoff record other than 😀 :

"The Toronto Maple Leafs are the only Original Six franchise to have not reached the Stanley Cup Finals since the 1967 NHL Expansion." ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toronto_Maple_Leafs)

I remember 1967 well. As a young lad in Montreal I was bitterly disappointed at that almost perfect final between the Leafs and the Habs. I remember my mother telling me in a consoling voicet: "Its only fair Rob, we have Expo."

The leafs are OK. I lived in TO for 4 years and have never been able to watch them since. Clark for Sundin turned out to be an excellent trade but I loved wendal.

Canada really is two Solitudes: if you are a certain age its either Leafs or Habs. Oops gotta go turn off the TV.....Argos are playing 😛

It was a GREAT game last night! Don't tell me your lab is a Sabres fan, Frank.... that would just suck.

It's gonna be fun at work tomorrow what with all the Sabres fans here in Rochester. I'm not going to say a word, I'll just look smug all day.

rhogg, I wouldn't be talkin' too much given the Flames' record right now. 😉

Actually, HNIC got a BIG upgrade last night for the Leafs game ... Don Whitman instead of Bob Cole.

GO LEAFS GO!!!

I wouldn't know... ... the flames are never on TV 🙄

Actually their record is the same as it was this time last year. Its tough when you have 1 scorer and he's a slow starter. Even with that Iggy has been far and away the flames best player this year.

Kudos to the leafs for knocking off the Sabres. If their goaltending holds out, and McCabe finds a quick step or two, they might actually be able to beat someone in the playoffs other than Ottawa .😱

I do like watching Sundin play - he is one of the great skill players in the game.

We just love Redneck Hockey down here in "good ol North Carolina". HOME of the WORLD CHAMPION CAROLINA HURRICANES & HOME of the coveted STANLEY CUP!😀 Sorry I just coulnd't resist myself!!

Well in the East it's the Leafs on the Ontario channels, plus either Ottawa or Montreal in those markets (and Maritimes, I think) ... the 2nd game is a Western Conf. team so you have a 1-in-3 chance of it being the Flames. But if they're not on, doesn't TSN or Sportsnet or someone pick it up?

Anyway, yeah, Iggy starts slow every year, and there aren't a lot of shooters to help him out. That team needs some work.

I think McCabe wil pick it up; the youngsters on D right now, playing for the four defensemen who are on IR are doing really well. When Kubina, Coliaccovo & co. are back, where are they going to put Bell, White, et al? All of a sudden Toronto's defense is looking deep. Kudos to Maurice for bringing them along. I saw Maurice at the first Marlies game last season, here in Rochester. He's a quiet guy, but you could see the fire inside.

Quoted for truth!

GO CANES!!!!

IG: You have a great young goalie in the system, Tuuka Rask, that you acquired from us. Of course, you gave up Razer, who is doin' pretty well and getting better. Thanks!!! 😀

Cane-people: Congrats on a great season. Enjoy it while you can!

I was rooting for the ex-Whalers last spring myself; that was totally great to see. I do rue the fact they moved, but I've accepted it.

Very glad to see Paul Maurice land with the Leafs too. Let's hope he can bring the Cup to T'ronno.

And he might start playing sooner than later if Thomas continues to allow 3 goals a game.

When I was at Boston University, Rick Dipietro was in a couple of my classes; I remember when he decided he was leaving school for the NHL (our Junior Year), and he was talking one day about really not wanting to be picked up by the Bruins. Instead he ends up on the Islanders... not sure how he felt about that.

The city is so down on the team right now; hell anyone who saw the game last week against the Canadians knows that the fans are getting real impatient. They really need new ownership... its just horrendous.

Pete, sorry to hear about the Boston team problems eith their ownership, but we've certainly had our share during the Ballard years. Funny enough, I am (sort of) an owner of the Leafs, through my teachers' pension fund.

Pete, you are right. While it is a business and there needs to be fiscal responsibility, Jacobs has not served the Bruins fans well. Nonetheless, I hope the Leafs prevail Thursday of this week!

Its a long season and who knows ... maybe this team can gel; but its hard to see

I am going through a little withdrawal .. I live near Glens Falls where for years we had the Adirondack Red Wings and more recently the Frost Bite (owned by Barry Melrose and Steve Levy)... well they pulled out of the area

so now its just the local highschool level or go to RPI games, or the River Rats games (Hurricanes AHL team).

I am little disenchanted with hockey right now as you can all see
