I recently went to the Holi Festival of Colors in Spanish Fork, Utah. I decided to leave my usual photo equipment at home and go with a couple Fuji Quicksnap disposable cameras. I wanted to push myself not to rely on specific equipment, and also avoid getting colored dust inside my lenses 😉
I found the results very fun. It was great walking around with these tiny cameras and being as inconspicuous as possible. They provide a dreamy look that lends itself well to the event. Not having to focus or set exposure was also quite a change for me, and allowed me to immerse myself a little more in the event. Definitely beats walking around with a large and expensive setup and having to worry about ruining anything, or capturing the perfect moment. It's more about shooting from the hip and having a great time.
Enjoy the photographs! I hope to post more as I scan them.
